Geelong Botanical Gardens
I recently visited beautiful Geelong and it’s Botanical Gardens, an an oasis in the heart of Geelong, located at the eastern end of the city center. It covers over 100 acres of land and is home to an impressive collection of plants from all over the world. From the moment I entered the gardens, I was struck by the beauty and serenity of the place. The gardens are well-maintained, and the pathways are easy to navigate.
One of the things that I loved about the Geelong Botanic Gardens is the sheer diversity of plant life. From the moment you enter, you’re transported to different parts of the world with the different gardens. One minute you’re in a lush rainforest, and the next, you’re surrounded by cacti and succulents. I particularly enjoyed the arid garden with its desert plants.
Another highlight of the gardens is the greenhouse. It’s a fantastic place to escape the heat or rain and to take in the beauty of exotic plants from around the world. The cactus collection inside the greenhouse is particularly impressive, and I spent a good amount of time marveling at the variety of shapes and sizes.
But it’s not just the plants that make the Geelong Botanic Gardens special; it’s also the peaceful ambiance of the place. I saw many people having picnics, or simply sitting and reading a book. It’s a great place to escape the hustle and bustle of the city and to reconnect with nature.
I’m not the only one who’s impressed by the Geelong Botanic Gardens. I read several reviews online, and everyone seems to agree that it’s a must-visit spot in Geelong.
All in all, the Geelong Botanic Gardens are a wonderful place to spend a few hours or even an entire day. It’s suitable for all ages, whether you’re a nature lover or not. So, grab a picnic basket, put on some sunscreen, and head over to the Geelong Botanic Gardens for a day of relaxation, beauty, and fun. Who knows, you might just discover a new favourite spot in Geelong. I also recommend you visit The Carousel while you are in Geelong.
