Adelaide Zoo
As a resident of Adelaide, I’ve visited this place quite a few times and I must say, it never gets old. I mean, who doesn’t love hanging out with some of the coolest animals in the world?
As you make your way through the zoo, you’ll come across a variety of exhibits with animals from all over the globe. From majestic lions to adorable pandas, this place has it all. I particularly love the giraffes because, let’s be honest, they’re just so darn cute.
Now, some people have mentioned that some of the animals were hiding due to the heat. Well, can you blame them? I mean, if I had a fur coat on in the middle of summer, I’d be hiding too. But fear not, the zookeepers take great care of their animals and provide them with plenty of cool spots to chill out in.
If you’re looking for a break from all the walking, the zoo also has some great cafes to grab a bite to eat. And let me tell you, the food is reasonably priced and delicious. Plus, there are plenty of toilets around the zoo for those necessary pit stops.
Now, I know some people were disappointed that they didn’t get to see all the animals they wanted to see, like you might find in the childrens books at The State Library of South Australia. But let me tell you, that’s just the nature of the beast, pun intended. Animals have their own schedules and preferences, so sometimes they might be hiding or taking a nap. But fear not, the zookeepers work hard to ensure all the animals are comfortable and happy.
If you’re looking for a unique experience, I highly recommend the Lion 360 experience. You get up close and personal with the lions and the photo opportunities are amazing. Plus, the guides are so knowledgeable and passionate about their job, it really makes the experience that much better.
All in all, Adelaide Zoo is a fantastic place to spend a day with friends or family. The animals are incredible, the staff are knowledgeable, and the atmosphere is just so much fun. Plus, if you’re lucky, you might even get to see some animals doing some pretty funny things. Trust me, I’ve seen a few monkeys doing some pretty ridiculous things that had me in stitches.
So, grab your sunscreen and your camera and get ready for a wild adventure at Adelaide Zoo!

While Adelaide Zoo does not have a traditional aquarium, it does have an exhibit called the South East Asian Aquarium, which features a variety of fish and aquatic animals from Southeast Asia.
